Privacy Policy
Last updated October 7, 2026
This policy explains what [Company legal name] ("Studsmith", "we") collects when you use the Studsmith app and website, why, and the choices you have. Contact: support@studsmith.app, [Registered address].
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, the name you give us, and your password stored only as a secure one way hash.
- Billing details: handled by Paddle.com, our reseller and Merchant of Record. We receive your plan, payment status and customer reference. We never see or store card numbers.
- Usage records: what actions you took, when, and how many credits they used, so we can bill correctly and show your history.
- What you send the assistant: your messages, attachments (such as screenshots, videos, PDFs and code), the relevant parts of your project files, and Studio output, while you use the assistant.
- Device and log data: app version, operating system, IP address and error logs, to keep the Service secure and working.
Your game projects stay on your computer. The app only sends the parts needed for the request you made.
How we use it
- To provide the Service: run the assistant, sync your game, and keep your account and credits up to date.
- To bill you, prevent fraud and abuse, and keep the Service secure.
- To send account and billing emails, such as receipts, password resets and trial reminders.
- To improve Studsmith using aggregated usage statistics. We do not use the contents of your projects or messages to train AI models.
Who we share it with
- AI model providers. To answer your requests, your messages, attachments and relevant project content are sent through OpenRouter to the AI model provider that runs the model being used. They process it to generate a response under their own terms and data policies.
- Paddle, which sells Studsmith to you as Merchant of Record and processes your payment under its own privacy policy, and our hosting, database and email providers, who process data for us under contract.
- Authorities, if the law requires it, or to protect people and the Service.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not show ads.
Children
Studsmith accounts are for people 13 and older. Children under 13 may use Studsmith only through an account created and managed by a parent or guardian, and the account details we hold belong to that adult. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account without a parent, contact us and we will delete it.
Cookies
The website uses one essential cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
Account and billing records are kept while your account is open and afterwards as long as needed for legal, tax and accounting reasons. Messages and attachments sent to the assistant are processed to answer you and are not kept on our servers longer than needed to do so and to investigate abuse. Your chat history is stored on your own computer.
Your choices and rights
You can view your account and credit history on your account page, change your details, and close your account. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or California law) you may have rights to access, correct, delete or export your data, and to object to or restrict some processing. Email support@studsmith.app and we will respond within 30 days. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
Passwords are hashed, sessions use random tokens stored only as hashes, connections are encrypted, and the app keeps your login in your operating system's secure storage.
International transfers
We and our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
Changes
If we make material changes we will tell you by email or in the app before they take effect.
